Re: Coming off Celexa

Thank you so much for your feeback - I am actually on 40 mg and my dr said i could cut it in half for 4 days and then in 1/4s for 4 days and then stop....tonight will be my first 1/4 night and I have only had one 'depressed' moment that seems lack of celexa related.

I did not have a triggering moment such as childbirth - it seems like I was just depressed all my life and finally decided to look into meds when I saw how much good they were doing for my mother. It has helped a lot but I also have had a rash now that started a few months after I started the celexa. It made such a change in my life though that I didn't want to stop taking it - so I researched every other possible reason for the rash....I've seen allergists and dermatologists and others. Nobody can figure it out - so now I am going off my celexa to see if it is indeeed the cause of the rash.

The whole thing is kind of scary. You say natural foods and such help with your depression? Do they actually help with the chemical parts or do you think it's more just a general feeling of well-being based on healthier eating habits?

Oh yeah - dreams - I have not noticed a particular difference on the meds - but I will let you knwo if I notice a difference now that I will be off :)
