Day 7 and really just need to talk....

Hi All,

Okay. I am on Day 7 and the week has flown by. I have done well - I actually ate dinner once, but I jumped right back on track. So far the hardest thing has been drinking enough water - I have been so busy at work the lemonade was rather convenient.


i did my first Salt water flush today and regular stuff came out - no ropes. since it is a weekend I am going to have time to drink B&P shakes and water and do it right.

But that isn't really my question for you guys. It is more of the mental emotional thing. I am overweight and part of the reason I decided to go on this fast was because I hoped to shed a few pounds. I weighed myseld on Day 1 and have not weighed in since because I am afraid that if I didn't lose anything it will get me down. Which leads me to my primary issues...

I define my success as ahuman being on my ability to be thin. I blame it on everything. The reason I am still single, the reason things don't go well for me or exactly the way I want them to. And I have some horrible habits with food. I feel guilty if I am eating anything. In a way I think it is silly to do a fast for weight loss - it is really for cleansing. But I almost need to be at the extreme - can't do something unless its all or nothing. And that ends up being unsustainable.

I have emotionally been in not a good place lately. And me going on this fast - I was hoping - would give me a bit of clarity around my life. Help me to have faith in myself again, help me to have a more positive outlook on life. But I am really down today. And I think the main reason is because I haven't lost the weight I think I need to lose. How can I stop valuing myself around this body image? It truly affects my entire life happiness. It isn't healthy.
