really confusing situation

My story is a really long crazily confused situation. I met this guy 3 months ago. I knew that his divorce wasn't final yet but in the process. Well the wife has withdrawn the papers twice meaning she filed he signed and she withdrew then she filed he signed and she withdrew again. He has 2 children from a relatinship before this one that he has custody of. The first ex is constantly dragging him back to court for something mostly to try anything she can think of to get custody. Well he just went back to court with her again. Now out of nowhere the previous ex has showed back up all the time. He got home from court and she was there spending the night(at his mom's). He lost everything when all this new divorce stuff started. It's all a big mess! There's nothing that I can do about any of this and I feel helpless. Can someone give me any advice at all what to do here????
