Old Bill Jones (joke)

Everybody seemed to know Old Bill Jones. When the President
came to town in a motorcade, he called out to Old Bill as he went by. When a movie star came to town, he asked if Old Bill
Jones was still around. Old Bill got letters from all sorts of important people.
Well, this fellow knew Old Bill Jones and wondered how in the
world he got so famous. So he looked him up and said, "You seem to know everybody! BUT, I'll bet you don't know the Pope!" Old Bill said he did and as a matter of fact, he was about to go to Rome to see him. The man said he didn't believe him and asked if he could go along to see for himself. So, they went to Rome and Old Bill Jones said he'd go in and talk to the Pope, and then they'd come out on the balcony and wave and his friend could see for himself. So the friend went out in front and got in the crowd of people waiting to get a glimpse of the Pope. Pretty soon, Old Bill Jones walked out on the balcony with several cardinals and a man dressed all in white. The friend asked the man standing next to him, "Is that the Pope?! "I don't know," the stranger replied. "but that's Old Bill Jones, there on the far left."
