Re: What My Doctor Didn't Want Me To Know About Gallbladder Surgery

Hello, I was a healthy 32 (something), married with 3 children. One year ago today, I had my gallbladder removed, then a bile leak occured one week later. I kept telling everyone from my family to the dr's. that something was wrong. The bile leak covered the entirer right side of my body and went into my pelvic region, a stent was put in and taken out within three weeks after surgery, diarrhea is a major problem still, and the pain starts at my right side where the gallbladder was and goes around to my right shoulder. My back feels numb if I stand to long. I have fought with this for a year. I read your story 2 nights ago Elizabeth and I cried. I feel like I could have wrote it. Our cases are very similiar. I went to a new surgeon today. Explained everything that has happend to me and he provided me with some explanation onto why I was having so much pain. I will be going back into surgery within the week for scare tissue that has built up on the liver and the peritoneum. He is willing to go in there and cut over 100 of these with no gurantee that he will get the one that is causing all these problems or that these problems will even go away. My question is has anyone out there ever heard about this or had it done. I looked all over this web-site and i can't find anything.

Alot of my problem started by not researching my doctor through enough. And by not going on my gut instinct also. My choice in dr's today is highly rated and alot older than I am. The last dr.was only 2 years older than me and had only done these procedures for the last 6 years.

I want to check all my avenue's and I don't have alot of time. Also, just to let you know if I would have seen your web-site before I would have tried to flush my system instead. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
