To all who had a Vit. C IV in the filling removal process??

Hi!
I am getting my fillings removed in three weeks. My dentist mentioned getting a Vit. C IV, I think he said, after the mercury removal. For any or all of you that had this done, did you find it beneficial? I have read somewhere that some felt like it helped them not get as ill afterwards.
I have been so ill that I am afraid I won't make it to the three week appointment for I just 'lose it'. This thing is really getting to my nerves, it's like I don't have control over myself at all and there is just this feeling like I'm going to go out of control. Prayer is the only thing that gets me through. So, I am needing any advice on how to keep the symptoms down best I can once the fillings are out.
