Goldenseal, if I remember right, really took the abcessed tooth PAIN down, at least as good as a Tylenol or Ibuprofen did,for comparison [but now I stay away from the pharmacy pills as much as possibile]

The products I tried ALL worked equally as well, just plain Goldenseal on the label, but maybe it is allways "of the root" - there is never choice, its allways just Goldenseal. And it works for tooth pains, esp the real bad ones from infection.

Thats what Goldeseal is claimed to do , help your body take infections away. Maybe it takes the pain the same way, but within an hour I was sure it what was helping.

I put the tincture right on the tooth, a dropper comes with the bottle I had, and it goes under the tongue that way too then. Others have used a cheesecloth poultice with powdered Goldenseal in it, just leave it there for an hour [but it tastes bitter].

Truly, I suggest finding a small bottle, about $10 to $25, of tincuture, preferrably a "GLYCERINE" based tincture instead of alcohol, but if thats all there is use it. It will last for several toothache sessions over the years, or for family and friends tooth pains. Amaze them all.

      searching info ...
here is some of what I found online -

      1]Goldenseal Root is a Natural Anti-biotic:
"This herb is one of the most beneficial of all. Discovered by the Australian Aborigines, it has traditionally been used as a natural antibiotic for the treatment of colds and flu, and for congestion. Used externally it is considered an excellent antiseptic. It will stimulate mucous membrane secretions and is helpful in gastritis, ulcers and allergies."

2] Abscesses - use Astragalus, Echinacea

      --------

i could not find the tooth pain referance specifically, sorry

Also, rinse your mouth with H2O2, but put it on the tooth gently though and test to see how much it will bubble up , it can freak you out if it foams too much, but at least you know you are killing the infection/bacteria - then pour it to it until it won't bubble anymore, or just like other teeth do.

I clean my mouth every day with H2O2. I wish I would have started years ago, when my teeth were still good.

H2O2 = hydrogen peroxide {remember to dilute appropriately]
