I did Atkins some time back. I really enjoyed the menu. I'm thinking of doing it again.

The thing about saying that you can eat all the meat you want is that you don't. I wound up eating a small salad and some chicken and I was good until my next meal. It's hard to pig out on pork chops, not so hard to pig out on pasta. In short, the diet winds up being a sensible eating plan. You add carbs back as you get closer to your ideal weight. You keep adding until you gain weight, then you trim back on the carbs, and supposedly you know exactly how much you can eat before you'll start putting on weight. It makes sense.

You can have fish on Atkins. And the idea that you can eat all the cheese you want is untrue, you must stay under 20 carbs in the beginning, then it increases out from there. To be honest, I was never tired or hungry on Atkins.

If you do Atkins, weight train to put on muscle mass and increase your metabolism, then you should wind up eating really healthy and still maintain your weight. That includes veggies and fruits.

Atkins is one of many ways to reach a weight goal.
