but you certainly went the long way around to make your point... i've often wondered why certain ones of us turn out the way we do... and i thank you for giving me a clearer perspective...

if our addictions are of a spiritual nature... as i truly believe them to be... then why wouldn't any other defect of character spring from the same source... spiritual cancers so to speak... just suppose for instance that the sermons one hears preached as a child could determine that childs out come... yet it would probably have to go much deeper than one or two sermons... i think the childs entire enviromental upbringing would have to be influenced in that direction... what if by preaching "against" anything we are actually turning our children toward it instead of against it...

the ego/mind can be very difficult to understand sometimes... take for instance... if you want the best for your child you tell them not to drink or drug or do certain other things... yet instead of taking your advice they do everything your warned them against... in spite of all your best warnings...

what i'm driving at is this... hitler said: "give me a child until he is six years old and i will own that child for life"... (as best as i can remember it)... which means to me that the seeds planted in a childs during those early years has a very large part to play in their latter years... and what it boils down to is that we are not teaching our children anything healthy... we are mostly just passing on to them our own ideas and sickness'...

this is very complex subject matter and would require having to write a book just to try to explain my veiws... but i think i've given you the gist of it... my point being that we should lead by example... and not by our dictates... and i'll leave you with this to chew on...

how does one teach a child to "love"... and to be whole... to be loving... and secure within themselves... that would be the key to solving all the worlds problems... for our children are just being tainted with all our insecurities and sickness'... so the solution to all the worlds problems has to do with how our children are being raised... i've often wondered what sort of chidhood jesus must have had for him to turn out the way he did... how loving... tolerant and understanding... and very wise mary and joseph must have been...

but on the other hand... a persons early years may be an influence on his later years... but it doesn't necessarily have to control their lives forever... they have been known to break free of the chains of bondage... but like i said... it's all very complex... but at least now i'm beginning to see things a little more clearly and from a different view...

not sure whether i owe you an apology or not... but i do thank you for giving me a much clearer insight...
