I have started this fast twice before--once before Christmas--so I stopped because of all the temptation to eat. Then after Christmas I tried but I had been eating so much it was difficult--OK--impossible for me to keep going. So here I am two days after my birthday and ready to begin again!

I am fasting to give my body a chance to heal all the damage I have done over the past thirty years, to transition myself to a vegan diet, and for spiritual reasons as well. I am going to do at least 10 days and then decide on day 10 whether or not to go further. I really want to do 29 days--1 day for everyday I have been alive. That is the spiritual part. I am going to meditate on each year of my life during each day of the fast--to try and embrace what has been good and let go of what has been bad--so that I can move foreward and live in the present.
