This is an actual letter I wrote to Quackwatch reporting fraud. Guess who I was reporting? :-) Stephen Barret replied (head of Quack watch) This is the letter I wrote and his response. Notice what he denies & doesn't deny.
Dear Stephen Barrett,
"Dr." Stephen Barrett is not even a doctor yet he calls himself one on his web site. He was forced to give up his medical license in 1993. This is fraud! Here is the definition of fraud from: http://www.hyperdictionary.com/search.aspx?define=fraud
Definition:
1.[n] something intended to deceive; deliberate trickery intended to gain an advantage
2.[n] intentional deception resulting in injury to another person
3.[n] a person who makes deceitful pretenses
Definition 1: Dr. Barrett intentionally deceives the public into thinking he is qualified to give medical opinions, when he isn't a doctor. He also pretends to have an advantage, being a "doctor", over the CAM Industry, in order to prevent people from being harm, when the medical industry he is promoting, is the leading cause of death in America. This is deceiving to gain an advantage, using trickery.
Definition 2: By Dr. Barrett supporting an industry that harms more Americans than any disease in America, he intentionally deceives people resulting in injury to other people.
Definition 3: Dr. Barrett claiming to be a doctor under false pretenses clearly fits this definition also. I guess I didn't know I'm a doctor too, since all I have to do is put a Dr. in front of my name to be a doctor like him apparently.
Dr. Barrett also has a racketeering problem in Colorado. He's being sued in Ontario for "nefarious activities". He's been FORMALLY discredited in California, as being "biased, and unworthy of creditability". Dr. Barrett and Robert Baratz conspired to use NCAHF, without Board permission, as a Plaintiff in over 40 cases in California, where Dr. Barrett and Baratz were to testify as "expert witnesses", resulting in NCAHF owing $100,000 in legal fees which they can't pay. I know Dr. Barrett can't pay for this either, because he is running his office out of an old hair removal, ear piercing salon.
Clearly this man should be thrown into jail for a long time. No wonder this man can't sleep at night and feels the world is against him. He is lying and deceiving the public for personal gains he can acquire no other way. He is also hurting people who can be helped by the CAM industry. Will you please post this message on your site so others will be aware of this lying, deceitful, self-serving, self-centered, harmful person?

His Response
Dear Gaylen Tibbitt,
"Dr." Stephen Barrett is not even a doctor yet he calls himself one on his web site. He was forced to give up his medical license in 1993. This is fraud!
Nope. I am a doctor and I was not forced to give up my license in 1993. Those statements have been spread by Tim Bolen, whom I am suing for libel. I merely retired.
Dr. Barrett also has a racketeering problem in Colorado.
Nope. A suit was filed against Aetna insurance company by someone who is marketing a device that they will not cover in their insurance policies. The suit is groundless. It says that Aetna and I were engaged in an illegal conspiracy, which is not true. I was not named as a defendant.
The rest of Bolen's latest libel is a mixture of fact and fantasy. To get more of an idea how he works, see
