From a friend...

(I hope you do not mind my posting twice; my first question very much concerns myself, the second is from fellow CureZonian, Osal, who is having difficulty posting messages at the moment...thank you so much)


Dear Andreas,

My mother, who is 73, is ready I believe to make some radical necessary changes
in her life, as far as her health goes. ( she’s made many, many other changes,
but maybe put the body last) She lives in Mexico, where she is now hoping to
build a new home (probably her last) on a piece of land she’s bought. This will
be her second home built from scratch in Mexico. Previously, she’s lived in
Canada, on land, on boats, travelled a lot, worked hard, and generally looked
for a place to ‘settle down’.

These are her health concerns now: arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, for which
she had surgery a few months ago, because the hands/wrists hurt so much she
couldn’t sleep. (she was told this was a simple surgery, and of course, it is
more complex, and the recovery is taking longer than she knew. ) She gained a
lot of weight beginning probably around menopause, and with giving up smoking.
Like many, she’s been following the Atkin’s thing, for the past while—and I am
really concerned that most of her problems are acid-based from the accumulation
of so much protein and fat.

When she visits she enjoys my food, which is more the vegetarian way she used to
eat…
But she says she’s insulin resistant and can’t eat fruit, and trying to adhere
to Atkins’ creates cravings for chocolate (lecithin maybe?) and also bad salted
nuts and so on.

I would like to be able to give her a ‘plan’ she can begin to follow, that will
undo the Atkins’ thrall…I know it would not take much to convince her; she just
needs to experience a shift for and in herself. She’s pretty hard-headed, but
lately, having been reduced to using a cane, and having her knees become weak
and ‘giving out’, from burdened by the weight ( and perhaps rheumatism?) she’s
probably more open to
‘help’. I have your “key” book ( which she bought for me!) but I’m not sure
where to start with suggestions for her. ( Don’t want to overload her with
info.) What do you feel would make the most difference: liver flushing? (she’s
been told she has a ‘fatty liver’)
She’s also been told her asthma (much much better since living on the Riviera
Maya) is related to her ‘gut’, but has dismissed that.

I have been thinking: liver flushes, maybe apple cider vinegar, lecithin, and
possibly
The Master Cleanse, with molasses, just for her to cut the meat addiction. (?)
By the way, she is O blood type although does not ‘believe’ in the blood type
diet—even though I think O is the one type said to be able to manage meat!


Thanks so much for your patience with this long post. I believe my mother has
many more years still—and I want her to have them, except that I worry that
Atkins’ is killing her!
