You sure have my sympathy. We are very much alike in symptoms. I too have alot of fillings but I can't have mine removed yet because of the cost. I am still paying off the loan from my dog's surgery. I was thinking of trying chlorella and cilantro to remove the mercury from my system, but I am still researching that.

I do know that I don't want to go the prescription drug route. It only makes things worse by masking your symptoms a little and then you will get side effects that are much worse. I want to go forward, not backward with my health.

One thing I can tell you is not to eat soy. I found out from experience that it has a detrimental effect on the thyroid. I totally stopped my menstrual cycle when I ate lots of soy. From my research and experience with soy, I believe my thyroid condition is related to too much estrogen as opposed to a simple thryoid problem, if that makes sense to you. That is why I don't want to start taking thryoid hormones. It would just be a bandaid, instead of fixing the real cause. I am also afraid if I take it my thryoid will stop functioning totally, so I am choosing to go the herbal/vitamin route.

I believe my liver isn't removing the excess hormones, estrogen and testosterone, causing the weight gain and other symptoms. You might want to look at Julia Chang's web site. I am avoiding anything estrogenic, like flax oil, licorice, evening primrose oil, she has a whole list of them. There is also a list of vegetables that are bad for your thryoid, which you can find on thryoid websites, the cruciferous ones. Some are ok if cooked.

There is a person named Tish on the coconut-info yahoo group. Coconut oil is supposed to be very good if you are hypothyroid. You should join that group and then do a search under the name Tish, and you will learn alot.

I'm sorry I can't be more help, as I am just learning myself. This website seems to be very informative and the people are helpful. I am starting another flush today. I know it is kind of soon, considering I just did one Tuesday, but after today I won't have another opportunity for at least 3 weeks, since I can't be sick at work.
