Essentially you seem to be on the right track. However, my understanding is that TSH alone, especially when fatigue is present, is not necessarily the best indicator of thyroid function. Since you've been diagnosed as being depressed, there's a good chance that you're fatigued. It is important to know free T4 and it's very helpful to know total T3 as well. There are other subtleties, but these three items are good starting points, and are often all that's necessary.

Various things can be pulling down your thyroid, like low adrenals. My sense is that at the minimum your thyroid and adrenals need to be tested and supported properly. Also, you may need a new doctor or need to learn how to negotiate with your current doctor. How fun! These are very big topics in and of themselves, and then there's liver, gallbladder, digestion, etc. It would take a book to address these issues.
