I agree too, but the point here is: is that really worth it not to get this shot when a stick of someone's needle (as a risk of this new job) can pose an even more serious health threat?
I can see a clear answer in case of child vaccination - but this is different. Hard to decide what is the right thing to do here... Well, the best would be not to take this job, but that is a completely different question...
