Certainly food for thought... But, it has been assumed that the aircraft would have retained its structual integrity at the instant of impact. Not Just the cockpit stopped at impact. The tail section probably disintegrated at the same moment the
cockpit and wings did. This crash was atypical of most impacts as it was almost perpendicular into an immovable object. I believe that the government runs test at such velocities at White Sand utilizing rocket-boosted sleds. I'm not saying the theory is witout warrant - just stating what leaves questions in my analysis. Also, one must remember that the aircraft was fabricated from various light weight alloys and aluminum crashing at 587ft\sec into concrete and construction-grade steel. (That's two football fields per second.)
