God is INTEGRAL. As the center of a circle is consistent with all parts of the circle, the TRUE nature of God's offspring is that we are TEMPORAMENTALLY the same. That means that, in our NATURAL STATE (the way we are at birth before learning the corruptions required for being limited to a physical body, "the flesh"), we are accustomed to the carefree existence and innocence that Adam and Eve experienced before their disobedience, we are "NATURAL MAN" come from God (we are ONE with Him). In God, there can be no concept of "hate" as we (humans) understand "hate" (how can God hate God?, God is one and we are a part of Him).
The "MANY-ONE" concept is easier to see in THE Body of Christ. There are "MANY" members (individuals), but all are IN[side] "ONE" body (Body of Christ). A TRUE member cannot "hate" another member, in fact, a true member cannot hate anyone because GOD CANNOT HATE GOD (and ALL creation is God). In fact, all emotions are a physiological response to the limitations of the "flesh" (reactions/adjustments to the "flesh"). In the heavenly spiritual world, plurality does not exist (it simply does not apply), only singularity. "Hate", as we know it, is a reaction of resentment/jealousy (in the GODLY SENSE, we can hate the deed, but it is not possible nor rational to hate the one who performed the deed). When someone's conscience is hurting, they defensively develop a need to think that they are better than the other person, so they rationalize and find reasons to "hate" the other person (perhaps the "HATER" feels uncomfortable around the righteous person and their conscience is offended or low self-esteem causes their ego to be offended). "Hate" is not REAL, it is "RESENTMENT". Love is real, love is "ONE-ness" (God is love, God is one). "Love" cannot be correctly understood as a mere emotion, love is a SENTIMENT, the only TRUE (real) sentiment. Hate is not a REAL sentiment because hate is based on a REACTION, it is based on (caused by) RESENTMENT. When God hated Esau, it only meant that He rejected the deeds of Esau.
Pathos is a very accurate description of what God requires of us (the UNDERSTANDING of what many people endure as the consequences of our neglect of goodness, consequences) so that we may have genuine sorrow for them and act accordingly. That is why we should let our laughter be turned to tears and our joy to dejection (James 4:9)...because of "pathos".
