Well well well squire it depends on exactly what you want and also your budget. Violet Rays were invented actually just before 1900 but became popular around 1910-20. We have to thank three people for this wonderful idea and creation. These people are Nikola Telsa, George Lakhovsky & Edgar Cayce .

I personally feel that the vintage units (old) destroy the new ones if they are working or refurbished with new capacitors etc. You can find alot of Vintage sets on Ebay but be warned most dont work or have problems. Look on Ebay for Refurbished models and theres some damn nice ones especially from one U.K seller on there. I've given you a link to one Vintage set seller in the U.K there are a few around on Google if you look hard enough.

I've wrote this stuff before for someone else so the archive here has all the information. You can get a modern one from Mary Stein although its time useage is limited and personally I am not impressed. The best on is the Ultraderm Professional that can run for 60minutes. You will find most modern day Violet Rays come with Neon tubes which isn't as powerful either as the old Argon and they glow Orangey not Violet. According the Mary Stein she claims hers can take the old electrodes (Argon) due to standard fitments in her wand dont know about the UltraDerm. I'd go the UltraDerm route.

If you can pick up a refurbished Vintage set much more powerful and STILL probably last longer than this modern muck we all use now.
