Re: How to avoid heartbreak?

I recently joined an internet dating site - got talking to a few guys, put up a picture and was completely overwhelmed by the 647 hits I received! I got talking to a few guys and one was really keen - I wasn't sure at first but he texted me every day even though he was away on business, and we met up at the start of this week. I thought it went well, he seemed like a nice guy and I had a really good feeling about him. It's now Thursday, and I hadn't heard anything back - I logged-onto the dating site to see if he was there (call it a weird feeling I had) - and he was in it alright! I sent him a casual text, just asking if he was having a good week, and his reply was pretty short and sweet to say the least.

I just feel so crap - I always do this, get myself hooked up on a guy and then end up completely crushed. I'm in tears over a guy I've hardly known five minutes!

Do men really enjoy 'The Rules', i.e., where a woman doesn't call them - ever - and the men do all the chasing? I'd hardly chased this guy but just feel pretty gutted at this. Ok, so he wasn't too keen on me after all and I can accept that - I just want to know how can I toughen up and stop hurting myself like this?

Any advice would be really very much appreciated.
