vitamin e diet

Hi everyone, Don't know if you're familiar with Sheldon's posting on Vitamin E enema diet. If you're not, i suggest you do a search and really look into it. Am having a very bad flare of UC and decided to try Sheldon's vitamin e enema and diet. This will be the first of several posts so you all know how it is going.

I started the actual enema tuesday A.M., however, i began the 'diet' on monday. By the time Monday night rolled around, I had already formed stools, just by the veggies alone. Yesterday was quite a good day with more formed stools and only about 5 trips to the restroom, (down from 15). Of course I am on Prednisone 30 mg and still tapering), Asacol, Librax for spasms, methtotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis, blah, blah! i was up early today so thought i may as well do the enema and go back to bed. After an hour or 2 i went to the restroom and there was very little stool in fact, i think it was mostly mucous from the enema. i have gone about 3 times already today but it really doesn't bother me as i know this is also from all the veggies. i met a friend for lunch and wound up having 1/2 cup of veggie soup. (sorry sheldon). i seemed to have tolerated it ok though i did make a trip to the restroom 2 hours later. still, small bm and mostly formed, though soft. you know the veggies make all the sense in the world as we want our stool to be bulkier and not runny, right? my doc's say, low fibre. i say no way! been there, done that, all it does is run thorough you. the other thing i should mention that is probably most important, eat small amounts of food all day long. i truly don't think our bodies can handle a whole plate of food while in a flare. we just reject it. I noticed that everytime i am up all night is after i eat a plate of food. i will keep in touch, let me know if you have any questions! thanks.
