On askshelley.com, click on FAQ. Then click on liver/gallbladder. Towards the bottom of that page she talks about dissolving stones instead of flushing them. 1 readers agree with this message. Hide votes What is this?

I generally followed her advice. Few people talk about amaranth, and I don't know if she ever mentions it. But I find it to be the most cleansing of anything. I find that it empties the bowels better and quicker than psyllium or flax. And I have used both of those for a long time. I even preblend my psyllium by shaking it in a bottle. But amaranth is still better. And it provides nutrition too. The perfect food! The only drawback to amaranth is that it takes a while to cook. I put it on low for about 2 hours and stir it after 30 minutes and after 1 hour. I make enough for a week at one time. And I just eat it like rice with all my meals.
Yes, I feel great! I actually felt great for pretty much the whole cleanse. Like I said, I was taking the herbs for a week. The night before last I started going to the bathroom a lot. My liver was starting to detox. Then about 6 am I woke up and had a burning in my liver area and my lower back (kidneys). Obviously I was in serious detox mode and sleeping was not what I needed. So I went and drank a bunch of water and took charcoal capsuls to absorb toxins.
Still couldn't get back to sleep. My whole body started cleansing. I felt really bad for only an hour or two. And then I started feeling amazing! By 11am that same morning I was feeling like a new person. My chronic back stiffness was easing up. I even went and unloaded some 100 lb bags of cement from my car and my back felt like I was 16 again.
About 9:00am I went to the health food store and bought some Bentonite clay. I took a tablespoon twice during that day. This REALLY helped clear the toxins out of my colon. I noticed that 30 minutes after I took the bentonite I felt much better. The feelings of toxicity (tingling and lightheadedness) went away almost completely.
My thoughts on the harshness of flushing:
I was a 100% raw foodist for a long time. It really hurt my health. Now I tend to look at health issues in a more balanced way. Something that can help you in smaller quantities may hurt you in larger quantities. So, yes, raw food is good for you but too much can strain the body. The same is true of flushing. I have done 3 of the Hulda Clark type flushes. And I never felt better afterwards. I actually usually felt worse. The truth is that a half a cup of olive oil is really not good for the body. The only reason we would drink it is to make the liver expel stones. But I think that it makes sense to try to get the liver to expel them in a gentler fashion. And without drinking a week's worth of fat! To me, the flush should be a last resort. I try to avoid extremism as much as possible. And I consider that to be a little extreme. Especially when there are so many ways to dissolve stones.
I think people like the idea of a one day cleanse that will solve all their problems. But it is so much better to have a little patience and be gentle to the body.
