So true, when you cannot see a person, to really be able to get a good read off of them.  I was in the store last night rushing to bring home a few things for dinner....I stopped in an area that is rather prestigious, a lot of richies with oodles of time on their hands.  Anyway, you see a lot of these older women, coiffed, well turned out, and utterly bored with their lives.  When I was coming into the home stretch one of them had her cart parked in the middle of an aisle and sauntered over to get her paper towels.  I stopped and waited, and she turned to see me unable to pass so I gave her one of those friendly dog kind of looks, and she was so utterly nasty and unfriendly in her return glance that it sort of miffed me, but then when I thought back on it I remembered how horribly MISERABLE she looked....unwell.  It reminded me of my stepmother - how sour her life had been before she passed.  And it sort of put things into perspective for me, and gave me a bit of empathy for her. 

Sometimes you can see an entire life in a glance.  I guess we miss out on that in here.  We would probably all be a bit kinder if we could get a good look at each other now and again.

Of course there would also be a lot of people thumbing their noses and rolling their eyes, I imagine.  hee hee.  maybe we are better  off blind.
