Hi there, I just saw your post. I agree with the other poster that the skin is pretty much a reflection of what's going on inside. I found out something pretty hard. When I was having skin problems in adolescence and beyond I was putting anything and everything on my skin and at times it made it even worse.
No matter what I did, whether it was for pimples, blemishes or even premature lines on my face, nothing really made much difference. Then I had to change my diet due to increasing ill health. I was finally put on a candida diet by a doctor who recognised my sick health and for once I was not shoved on antidepressants as I had been in the past. He actually "listened".
Well, I was taken off sugar, yeast, gluten grains etc and initially had to go off fruit also and milk. The eruption that came about from this was unbelieveable. I was so shocked and distressed by what started to occur once I had rid my diet of these things that I almost quit doing what I was doing, had it not been for the doctor to remind me that things very often get worse before they get better. The stored toxins have to come out somehow and it is mostly very unpleasant.
I had headaches, crying spells, exhaustion, I smelt, I felt wretched. But I kept going regardless. Though my diet was restricted and I was previously an absolute sugar addict to the extreme, I kept going. I felt like some drug addict who was being put through cold turkey detox. I was a mess. At any rate, I pushed on and I think it was about 2-3 weeks into it that changes began to become apparent. The change of my skin was no less than miraculous. It was reflecting the changes inside and my body was cleansing and healing and the mirror (the skin) was showing this and it became clear and smooth. The blemishes healed, the lines that were there practically disappeared and all that from my change in diet. I did no cleanses like liver cleansing, or flushes or drinking piles of water all day. I simply removed all the things that fed yeast and were toxic, and my body did the rest. I did drink things like herb tea though and some hot lemon drinks, but I did not over flush or cleanse. I stopped drinking coffee also.
My diet pretty much included eggs, meat, vegetables (stir fried, raw, steamed), some plain acidophilus yoghurt and some raw nuts like brazil and almonds (though not too many) and water/herb tea or lemon drinks. That is it. Later as a person improves and gets stronger, they can often add some gluten free grain, limited fruit back in their diet again.
I hope this helps you a bit. It takes weeks of doing this before changes are usually observed. Anything else is pretty much only an aid to this. Diet is the main deal and the foundation for your body to heal, everything else is supplementary in my opinion. And good healthy fats like coconut oil, butter, olive oil, fish oils etc are also great to aid healing and I think are essential to the diet. And if it helps you to put coconut oil on your skin too, that is great. But nothing replaces diet!
Cheers
