Topstroke11,
You seem very comfortable complaining about the people who deal with deadbeats (the people on the recieving end, that's strange, now why would you do that?), but you haven't at all really complained about the dead beat dads themselves. If your friend is a deadbeat dad, then HE is wrong, not the woman, AND certainly not the children in any way. It is your responsibility to tell him he is wrong and that he should grow up and stop complaining, pay his child support (ungrudgingly) and do whatever he can to be helpful to the women and the children, and also do whatever he can to help educate our younger people to be responsible for their own actions so they don't become deadbeat dads and destroy the lives of their own children. Deadbeat dads aren't just selling out their own blood, they are blaming it on women,...their victims (not a very noble thing to do, is it? and you're going to defend them!?).
Did you ever approach a bully at school who was bothering somebody and make them stop? Did you ever institute a program that would teach schoolboys good values so they wouldn't become deadbeat dads? Did you ever sign a petitition or march on a protest line for anything let alone family planning or community outreach so that society wouldn't end up with generations of deadbeat dads? Did you ever convince a friend to have a better attitude toward women so that they won't be a deadbeat dad? If you haven't done anything to prevent what you are complaining about, then you really haven't earned the right to complain passed SIMPLY STATING AN OPINION.
The manly thing for your friend to do would be to defend the woman. Forget about (for discussion's sake) the "Christian" thing to do, do what a true human being would do (the TRUE human spirit IS God's spirit, peaceful coexistence, like the knights of the middle ages defended and stood for everything that is right and true, the true human spirit is not 'human nature'). Defend the weak, embrace the opportunity to be just, true, and honorable (the opportunity is the reward for the desire) for the true man of God is a mountain of nobility that God can boast about to the angels (as he did with Job). We can only glorify God by being someone He can boast of, not with the procedures of rituals, offerings and rehearsed praise. He is gracious in His acceptance of 'protocol' (for we, humanity, are a 'simple people') but knows that our hearts will show the truth of our [own personal] 'faith' by the way that we handle such situations as this.
Child support is not slavery, it is JUSTICE.
