Weak and/or Brittle Nails - IODINE?!

Anybody else have this with iodine? My nails have always been horribly soft...and I hadn't really noticed it, but they have become much harder (and they hardly 'droop' at all).

Wowee, I might actually be able to have long beautiful nails someday - and I just KNEW that was NEVER gonna happen!
