there are a few reasons that kelp is not recommended for orthioiodine supplementation:
1) it's impossible to eat a therapeutic dose of kelp(such as for FBD, PCOS, Thyroid nodules, etc.)
2) kelp CAN contain high levels of arsenic/heavy metals.
3) if you wish to displace heavier halogens, kelp won't do it.
I, personally, have no problem with kelp if it's from a clean source. The reason the Japanese have such low rates of FBD and Breast Cancer is BECAUSE of the vast amount of seaweeds they consume. THAT is a life-long habit though. One cannot eat enough kelp to correct a lifetime of imbalance.
That subject has been debated to death here, and in the debate forum as well. I do believe a few members here combine protocols to one extent or another, Grzbr comes to mind.
