"The Brotherhood of God" seems like a very appropriate name and accurate description of what we really should be living, but since it's not in the bible that the word "Christianity" ever changed as the proper name what a "Christ follower" is, and doesn't specifically mention Jesus's identity, it should be considered only the description of the lifestyle that we should all share.
Yes, if I err, I err in love. That's the way I became closer to God (fall on the mercy of the court). True, sometimes I get a little too carried away, but God lets me know (in no uncertain terms) that I should straighten up.
"I would rather be wrong in my love and tolerance for all groups" (this is "His spirit" in our hearts).
We have been taught to be very partisan (almost as though "Christian" should be a brand name).
It seems that the "spirit of 666" is that the 66 books of the bible are being INTERPRETED subjectively to mean whatever is convenient at the time (because who INTERPRETS them???...the 6th day creation...MAN) instead of simply UNDERSTOOD (like a recipe). But try and get people to understand that scripture should only be TRANSLATED from one language to another, not interpreted. Who ever came up with the idea that they should be interpreted (I guess it was just some kind of figure of speech. Maybe it was because the Catholic church had them for so long in Latin only, the priest had to INTERPRET).
I'll never forget what the farmers in ancient Ireland did. They couldn't read (maybe 1 person every 200 mies). They were able to recognize only two words in the bible ("ewe" and "east"). So, on Sunday, the farmers got their sheep together and faced them EAST (and the fragrance of their devotion pleased The Lord). This is the PERSONAL devotion God wants. He will understand our idiosyncracies and that we are a "simple people" if only we approach Him AS WE ARE.
