Iodine is researched and proven to cause a lack/loss of estrogen. (All the evidence/studies/links are buried here and some are over on the Yahoo forum...I believe Lyn's posts have most of them).

The majority of menopausal symptoms are evidenced/caused by a lack/lessening of estrogen (and progesterone). Lack of periods are a symptom of lack of estrogen. Hair loss is a symptom of loss/lack of estrogen. Iodine causes a lack of estrogen.

It may not be conslusive or perfectly clear, but at this point it sure seems extremely likely.
