I've had this problem. One dentist analysed my xray and said that there is a bacterial trap between the filling and the tooth (a very leaky filling). On top of this, when I got other composites redone in the past due to incompatibility it was usually found that there was hidden decay underneath with no indication of a problem until the composites were removed. This was concerning considering I had not had them for that long and keep good dental hygeine as well as diet.

I have two composites now that I am apparently reacting to due to the "phenol" content. I have also been tested and found I have formaldehyde toxicity and this was only discovered since I had these composites placed. So for me? I feel like I went from the frying pan into the fryer in a way.

I do not know what material to trust, because I've had diamond and they also had to be removed due to reactions. But the replacements seem no better. Obviously I may have a problem with plastics, or there is something else amiss.

I know of a few others who had diamond and were not happy either, but again plenty of people are, therefore I couldn't label it as a bad material by any means. My dentist here who is biologic and one of the best in my country uses diamond as his main material. So it is obviously very individual. No guarantees as to how things will end up for anybody. Testing is wise, and the more testing the better obviously but are the tests 100%? I doubt that.
