Same thing is happening to my dog! Almost 14 years old, long haired chihuahua. He was losing weight and I didn't notice because of the fluffy fur. But I suddenly noticed I could feel his spine! Now that I have been hand-feeding him to get some weight on him (finicky eater), it is less noticeable near the neck, but still bony. He is super healthy, and recently dewormed. Must be old age in his case, but I plan to bring him in to the vet just for a checkup and to be sure.
