Scientists expecting to see antibacterial resistance imparing the increase and spread of antibiotic resistant species, found the opposite result to be true, it increased the rate and numbers of resistant organisms.

There's a nice quote contained in the HuffPo version from the Center for Disease Control that everyone should take to heart - "Medicine is a study in humility," Srinivasan of the CDC added. "We learn every day that something we thought was true is not correct. A study like this simply calls upon us to recognize the fact that we don't know everything we need to know yet. We need more investment in these problems."

I have repeatedly stated that we know about 1% of what takes place in the human body. That statement comes from my reveiwing research article after research article for many years, and seeing similar statements many times over.

In healthcare, there are two opposing views - that of the scientist and that of the medical doctor. More and more, people are discovering that MDs know very little. It's time that the medical profession knew this for themselves.
