This should be posted in the Zapper Support Forum rather than debate.

How are you measuring the output? Use an oscilloscope to get a true picture. A DMM or DVM will only read about half the true output for a real square wave because the output voltage is only there about 50 percent of the time.

There are many factors that influence the output, including the actual chip used, the duty cycle, the actual battery voltage ( not all batteries are the same ), etc.
