Senna is a hot energy herb. Cascara products have more of a cooling energy. So, if you don't do well with senna, it means it's aggrevating an already hot/warm condition within your liver. (I dont' like using senna, because it can be habit forming.)

As was already suggested, cascara products will probably work better for you. You definitely need something for your liver by what you said about your frequency of bowel movements.
