I was not referring to the many studies about TSH increasing after large doses of iodine. Yes, that is very common, but your total and free T4 along with free T3 levels would tell you much more. The " Iodine Doctors" are not necessarily right, and they have little or no studies to back their beliefs. If there are studies you can reference, it would be good to share them. I would be cautious continuing supplementation at those levels. Are you dosing based on how you feel? How did you get up to such a high amount? Have you ever had your thyroid hormone levels checked?

It can take time for a goiter to develop. Many are not visible to the eye or touch at first. It sounds like the swelling began not too long ago.
