Dear Scaredycat,
Please do try to be optimistic. It may sound too good to be true, but this is one thing that does work.
I use the Dr. Clark recipe. I've only done it twice. My husband did it once and was successful. He is planning to do it again, but he travels for work and hasn't been home long enough. He was very skeptical at first. He was really afraid that there would be pain. After I did my first liver cleanse, he couldn't believe that it didn't hurt. He tried it and was amazed that he flushed out about 200 stones. And it didn't hurt. He didn't even think he had stones since he didn't have any pains or discomfort to associate it with gall stones.

I think that fasting is good for your body. It's good for your body to rest and not have to spend energy digesting food. If you do a juice fast, you don't have to drink just apple juice. Carrot and Celery is one of my favorites. There is a fast, I believe, where you drink apple juice for three days before the cleanse. Is that what you are talking about? I didn't do that. I just used Dr. Clark's method.
> One of the cleansing regimens has this very strict time table, making it seem like it will all be for nought if you dont exactly and precisely adhere to it. (...and now, fall asleep within 5 minutes of doing this...). This is something I cant do. I can take a full dose of sleeping pills, and its just candy to me.
I have tried to stick to the schedule. After I drank the olive oil mix at 10:00, both times I did the cleanse, I laid down but couldn't really sleep. I dozed off and on all night, but never really slept good. My husband, otoh, drank his oil mix and slept all night without any trouble. I wouldn't recommend taking sleeping pills. I guess I think that if your liver is toxic, you need to give it a rest from medicines. I didn't sleep well at night, but the next day I took a nap and felt great after.
> I *really* want to believe this will help me, but as you can see, I'm still a bit skeptical.
I think that is natural. I did a lot of reading before I decided to do this. I really felt that this could help me not feel so tired. If, after the first flush, it was gross or painful, I would not be doing it again. I believe that is true for other people that you read about here and other web sites who have tried this. If it was awful, people would say. No one is getting paid to endorse this. It is just a good thing that needs to be shared. The fear of the unknown is a powerful thing, but you do not need to feel alone. There are plenty of people here who will "virtually" hold your hand as you decide if this is right for you.
Good luck,
Tisha
