You just have to read labels - my groceries contain maybe 10% dairy and refined ingredients.
Even if your son loves sweets the sugar does his immune system absolutely no good! The tonsils and adenoids are part of the immune system.
So - if you really want to treat this naturally I would suggest cutting out all refined processed and sugary foods.
Dairy and sugars can cause extreme mucus build up in the nose and other mucus membranes. If you could get pure unrefined yoghurt that would be okay and you could make smoothies with it by adding fresh fruit and blending in a blender.
Food plays a huge part in how our bodies run and operate. Just as you wouldn't put bad or junk gas in your car you shouldn't put bad or junk food in your body. Food is the body's fuel.
I would suggest only whole grains, organic pure peanut butter (no additives), pure orange juice, lots of fresh fruits and veggies, raw nuts, seeds and dried fruits. To do this you just have to go shopping on the outside aisles at the grocery store and just avoid the middle aisles, for that is where all the junk is.
I would suggest a buffered vitamin C powder mixed in with his orange juice and also giving him oil of oregano 3x daily (mixed in a teaspoon of pure olive oil or molasses)
Beware of chewable vitamin c tablets. The majority contain artificial colours and sweeteners. Aspartame is deadly and should never be used.
If you need sweeteners use un pasteurized honey, un sulfured molasses, fruit sweetener, or stevia.
It is a hard transition - but a good one that people do not regret. Only because their health improves dramatically and the food addiction cease to exist.
