I agree with say414. I thought I had CFS/FM for 9.5 years. I suffered horribly and my doctors were clueless. ... ... I did lots of research and then I found this site. I learned I do not have CFS/FM. I am hypothyroid type 2. Type 1 is where you thyroid gland produces little or no hormone which is easily detected in a blood test. Sounds like you had a lot of the symptoms I had. You might by hypothryoid ***type 2*** (HT2). You need to take your basal(resting) temperature. First thing in the morning put a glass thermometer ($10 at Walgreens/CVS) in you underarm for 10 minutes. If you are less then 97.6 you could be HT2. ... ... Dr. Mark Starr has a great book called ”Hypothyroidism Type 2.” You can get a used copy cheap. I was tested for thyroid and my results were normal but the tests can detect only type 1. Sounds like you had a lot of the symptoms I had. You might be hypothyroid type 2(HT2). You should take your basal(resting) temperature. First thing in the morning, put a glass thermometer ($10 at Walgreens/CVS) in you underarm for 10 minutes. If you are less then 97.6 you could be HT2. If you sleep with tons of cloths, blankets and hat (like I did) you need to take most of that off and put on only what a ”normal” person would use about an hour or two before you get up. ... ... Post-nasal drip can be a sign of histamine response. Stopping the drip itself is probably not as important as stopping the cause. (It seems likely you’re aware of this, since this is one of the defining criticisms of conventional medicine.) I think with adrenal fatigue your body can go into a catabolic (break down the body for energy) state instead of being in a good catabolic / anabolic (build up the body) mix. So I would be careful about fasting or exerting yourself if your body is already in a break-itself-down mode. Back when I thought my problem was entirely diet related and I was generally afraid of eating -- most meals seemed to be triggering a bad response -- I tried fasting.
