I wasn’t feeling well and didn’t understand why. I do know that my periods were about 17 days apart and definitely not normal so i went to 3 different doctors for help. The first sent me away because at the time was without insurance and it would have cost too much money to do the testing they needed, mind you, not even offering a pregnancy test. The second couldn’t get me in for 3 weeks. The third doctor i went to sent me to a larger hospital for a couple different ultrasounds. They guessed it was a cyst on my ovary finally bursting. I feel very sorry for you. Doctors seem to be pawing around in the dark and that Mirena is causing some women dreadful suffering. I don’t know if you had the dirty smelly light bloody discharge for the time you had the Mirena in, but I had, it was not something I could live with. I also had all the symptoms you had, lying on the couch, thinking I was going nuts, go out for a walk, breathless walking and feeling like a very old woman. Oh, I do have other symptoms; however I wasn’t sure if they were Mirena related or not. For instance, I have chronic headaches which I thought was because of my eyes, so I went to the eye doctors and got glasses and they haven’t helped. Also, I have problems with my hip, knees, and ankles, anxiety (which I have NEVER had before), major mood swings, false pregnancy symptoms, unable to lose weight, foggy almost disoriented brain and the list goes on...but the brown bleeding has me feeling like it could have expelled thru my cervix and into my adominal wall or something. I had the mirena inserted 6 weeks post partum and have had it now for right at 9 months. I bled heavy to spotting for about 6 weeks after insertion. Since then, I have had my regular period every month until about 4 months ago. I started having a normal period which lasted approx. a week and then a week AFTER my period, I bleed this dark brown sometimes black looking blood for about a week. I had my Mirena removed nearly 18 months ago and have had Candida (yeast) issues ever since. When I had blood tests done my Vitamin D came back very low and I was advised to start supplementing. I did for a few days and initially felt better - my mood in particular. But then all my symptoms started to get worse so I stopped supplementing. Good question. I really have no idea. It might be best to use another form of control for a few months to be very sure you don’t conceive right away. The IUD can cause some severe hormonal imbalances. Not a good way to start a pregnancy even if you did want to conceive right away (which you said you don’t, of course). I wold love to hear how many of you have lower back pain since the Mirena. It was actually one of my very first symptoms after insertion....debilitating lower back pain. ... ... Have you checked your hormones before? Im curious to see if you have the same problem. I haven’t started taking anything because I’m breastfeeding and I’m scared to take anything that may affect the baby or my milk supply. ... ... sleepy Diana :) ...   [End]

After explaining that my breathing problem is different (and it was at first), now I have to eat my words and say that I’m having the classic problem you describe. I just can’t get a full, satisfying breath in. I do the deep breathing, the huffing, and get a bit dizzy, but still feel like I’m not getting enough air. I haven’t had this for a long time. Strangely enough, the ”forgetting to breathe” is not quite as bad, although it happens a few times during the night, but the air hunger, has taken it’s place. I’m not sleeping. I have a ...   [retrieve this message]
