  • Ayahuasca Speaks   by  Liora Leah     16 y     3,096       6 Messages Shown       Blog: Spirit Speaks

    One friend of mine wrote me:

    "Why does spirit want us to go through difficult challenges....well, after having gone through them myself, I believe its just part of the preparation for the work that we've committed to do while walking this planet."

    I know this in my heart to be true but I still have to complain about it. Sometimes it seems so damn hard! I see people skating through life sometimes, and I wonder, why can't I skate too? Why is this such a struggle when others seem to have it easy? Then I realize no one really "has it easy" in life, and maybe the ones who are skating now had it rough in previous lifetimes, so this time around they're "taking a break" for a while! Who knows? It's all a mystery, and that's what bugs me so much. I want to KNOW IT ALL and KNOW IT ALL NOW! Patience is definitely NOT my strong point.

    The friend that I attended the Ceremony with was concerned that the setting the Ayahuasca Ceremony took place in may not have been "safe" for me, and hence my emotional reactions--I don't believe that that was the case. I really feel that these issues of mine--loss, pain, sadness, anger, mistrust-would have come up no matter the setting or the Shaman. They have been lifelong and deep. I had a repetitive dream this week, and the repeated message was that "ayahuasca remains with you". I think She is still working with me. Maybe these issues coming up are part of the healing--they come up, I feel them, and then they go, hopefully to be less intense the next time around.

    Two nights ago, I sat down and asked my Spirit Guides if Ayahuasca was still working with me, as the dream implied. They told me that I could speak with the Spirit of Ayahuasca myself. Speak to a Plant Spirit? OK, I told myself, I'll try it:

    "Ayahuasca, my Spirit Guides said I could talk to you directly. This feels rather strange, talking to a plant Spirit. You have been visiting me in my dreams, yes?"

    Ayahuasca's reply:

    Yes, it is I, the Spirit of Ayahuasca. You may call me "Aya" in your writings. It is not so strange after all to speak with me, Little Great One, as I am of the realm of Spirit as are you, as is Great Mother and your We-Guides. Yes, "Little Great One," is the title/name I give to you as you are Great indeed as are all your human sisters and brothers. There was once an alliance between human and plant spirits worldwide, yet this connection is now weakened and maintained by only a relatively few humans on the Great Mother's belly. We call on you to join this alliance, as your Great Mother calls you one of the "Earth Keepers." Yes, your interest in mythology as a child was a clue to us even then, when you were young, as to your potential as a Spirit sister. You are connected to us in so many ways, beyond your human consciousness and what you call "reality." The knowledge will unfold before you in time. Be patient.

    Yes, it is true, others' connection with us is strong and deep, yours less so, as your power eminates from the rock and dirt and water of the planet, for these you formed with your own hands, yet out of the Mother's soil we spring, and so our connection through Great and Holy Mother. We honor you. We ask that you honor us.

    Yes, the "allergies" of which you speak are but a thing in passing. You react strongly to us. It is as (a healer I worked with several years ago) once said long ago--the things to which you are seemingly repulsed are those things that hold the most power for you. You will change in time. We will form greater bonds.

    I go now. Know that I am with you, even in your dreams.

    Your Spirit Sister, Ayahuasca

      idealism = god
      realism = e=mc2
      spiritualism = placebo (by-product of idealism)

        Hi, tomi444, I'm not sure what you mean by your message!

        As for a "placebo", I know in Western medicine the "placebo effect" is when a doctor, for example, gives a patient a sugar pill and says, "here, take these pills, you'll feel better". The pills in and of themselves don't do anything except taste sweet because they have no medicinal value, but the patient takes the pills and feels better. Why? because the patient BELIEVES what the doctor has said. In other words, the patient's own mind was convinced they'd feel better by taking the pills, and so the patient DID feel better. Contrary to Western practitioners who disdain such patients and "put down" the placebo process, I think the placebo effect is a fantastic example of how our own minds can make us sick, and how our own minds can heal us.

        So, are you saying that the plant ayahuasca is a placebo, of sorts, for me? Perhaps so. I'm convinced we all innately have the ability to heal ourselves; it's a matter of getting around our own mental blocks, of which I know I have many. If a plant medicine, chanting, drumming, sungazing, meditation, or whatever, will help me get around my own mental blocks so that I can readily access my own healing abilities, so be it! Bring on the placebos!

          loralei,i totally agree with your thinking.thing is am a bit confused.
          i pray to god (only the lords prayer).i ask for nothing yet i feel i and my loved ones are 'looked after'.i am of no religion, but i believed in god.i watched a programme the other night on tv .it was very intriguing,all about E=mc2.creating all matter etc..do i in my wisdom now discount god and begin to sound like an athiest?do i view my prayers as a self induced 'placebo'.i believe in self-healing but i think it comes from the subconconcious.i think now that 'prayer' is one pathway to it,but if i intentionally try to use my subconscious mind,it will then become conscious.i'm sorry that it's all confused,but if i pray then i am wrongful because i now feel very stongly in my beliefs about E=mc2 and yet no less about god.my remarks to you about 'placebo'was in respect of spiritualism(not putting you down).i suppose i come within the range of spiritual belief,but i dont know how to deal with it.i thought perhaps you can help me.?Tom .

            Dear Tom:

            Thanks for writing back! Sometimes, well actually a lot of times, I am confused myself! I grew up in a family of staunch atheists and agnostics ("not knowing") and most of them are scientists, to boot! However, I do not think that science and spirituality have to be independent of each other! There are many scientists who have spiritual beliefs, and many spiritually-oriented people who believe in science! I for one believe in the theory of evolution, but don't think that what we learn in school is the complete story. (see blog: "Creation of the Earth" http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=356&i=3). I also am fascinated by astrophysics and space travel, yet believe that what our scientists know in these areas is only a small part of the total "picture". I believe that scientists who leave out spirituality in their thinking are cutting off their nose despite their face; in other words, they're just getting part of the puzzle, but leaving out a lot of it. There does not have to be a conflict with you believing in Einstein's theory of relativity or E-MC2 and being a spiritual person who believes in God. I once heard a minister by the name of Reverend Michael Beckwith (of AGAPE Church in L.A.) speak about what he calls "co-creation"--this is when humans "tap into" the Universal Knowledge of the All-That-Is (known by many names: God/The Creation/Universal Energy Field, etc) and "bring back" with them the knowledge that they then translate into human activity--Beckwith used the example of Einstein, and said that Einstein "co-created" the theory of relativity with Spirit ("Spirit" is my name for the All-That-Is, what you call "God"). God or Spirit didn't just flow through Einstein, as if Einstein was a puppet, but worked WITH him to create this theory of how the universe works in our 3-D reality. In other words, Einstein's work was divinely inspired. One can "tap into" the All-That-Is through many means, prayer, meditation, dreams, being but some of the modalities.

            I do not think that praying to God is a "placebo". What I wrote about "placebos" was in response to your post, which I didn't quite understand. I was writing "tongue-in-cheek", with a little bit of sarcasm. I'm sorry if what I wrote was confusing. I'm sorry I wrote first before I got your response to what you meant. (I'm still not sure what you mean by the word "spiritualism"--could you please define this for me?) Basically, I was equating the word "placebo" with any technique we use that gets us to the point where we can heal ourselves. This doesn't mean that techniques such as prayer, meditation, or any other technique are useless or invaluable--that was the point I was making when I was talking about "placebo", that Western Medicine puts down the power of the mind and looks down upon people whose health improves when there is no "drug" actually doing the work. This is an area in Western medicine that is GREATLY MISUNDERSTOOD! Physicians call this the "placebo effect" when they have no idea what a FANTASTIC TOOL the mind can be! We can heal ourselves without drugs! Surgery! chemotherapy! It's a matter of knowing the "how" of which to do it. I do not have this answer myself, and this is a big issue for me as I've had many health problems over the years, many of which have not responded at all to Western Medicine, and somewhat improved with alternative medicine or "energy work". Spirit keeps telling me I have the capacity to heal myself, and I am struggling mightly to understand how this actually works.

            I know it has to do with removing the "mental blocks" we all have. I have written about this several times on this site. Whatever we do to connect with Spirit and our own Divinity is helpful in all aspects of our lives, no matter what this may be. For yourself, you pray. Others meditate. I sungaze and walk barefoot on the Mother. These are all valid ways to connect with Spirit, or God as you say. I personally do not use that word "God" as it has negative connotations for me given the religion I was exposed to as a child. I know in time I will release that negativity, but I'm not ready yet, so I say "Spirit". It's just a name. The Divine Essence is the same no matter what it is called.

            As for you having no "religion"--religion is just the dogma or rules humans create. "Spirituality", I believe, cannot be contained in any one religion. All religions carry within them the seed of spirituality. I do not subscribe to any one particular religion. A Shaman who once worked with me called me a "spiritual hummingbird", meaning I take what I need from different religions and spiritual schools of thought, just as a hummingbird flits from one flower to the next, taking the nectar from each one. So, when people ask me what faith I am, I say "I'm a spiritual hummingbird" and then of course, I have to explain this to them! There is no conflict with your believing in God and not being affilated with one particular religion. I actually think, and this is my opinion, that not being affiliated with any one religion gives us more freedom for spiritual growth.

            Feel free to write back to me any time! As for me helping you, I have only myself as my own guide. Others may assist you along your way, but You have answers for yourself within YOU. Trust yourself, trust your intuition and trust your feelings.

            Love, Liora Leah
