Blog: Wedding Blog (and life thereafter)
It's good to go to at least three places to look for a beautiful bridal gown. I went to one place in Old Brookville, Iman Bridal Couture. What a snooty ass owner. Oh well, it was Old Brookville I should have known. She looked at me crosseyed when I said my budget was $3000 (that was a lie...my budget was nonexistant). The dresses STARTED at $2500 and the more expensive they were, the UGLIER they were.
Moving on...David's Bridal had some pretty dresses but the material was CHEAP. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. Plus it reminded me of going to a sample sale at Century 21 department store. I saw the sign in David's that spelled out the alterations and I got worried. My sister suggested we go to The Wedding Center in Commack so I did. Let me say that YOU MUST BE CAREFUL WITH ALTERATIONS. The more elaborate the dress is, the higher your fee will be. WATCH OUT.
Okay here's a link to some David Bridal horror stories on partypop

My second fitting is tomorrow. Please God let the dress zip up.

Whew!! Thanks for the heads up! I am so nervous about starting to look. With my Wedding a year away and hoping to loose 25-30 pounds by then.... I don't quite want to think about dresses just yet.
I should be okay with looking for a dress 4 months in advance, right? Then I would think the alteration fee would be significantly less.
Enjoying reading your blogs!! Wedding and Getting in shape before-hand..... is why I am here!! ; )

No don't wait. Look now and know what you want. Six months before the wedding go get your dress. Don't wait four months out, esp. if you want a super expensive couture dress.
