Self Care = Self Empowerment 13 y
in the midst of providing service in a crowded booth at a huge fair, vibr8 suddenly remembers to stop and take care of herself!
I spent most of this Labor Day Weekend co-facilitating a booth at a huge event in a nearby city.
I’m grateful for many aspects of this opportunity I had to network my alternative health practice. I’m grateful for my booth partners, as the booth would not have had the perfectly-put-together displays and signs and informational materials that it had, if it weren’t for them. Just amazing.
I’m also grateful for these booth partners who tolerated my moodiness, which came up more than once during the event. Large events, especially events full of new-agey exhibits and psychics and such, ... read more
Greenberg Quote 13 y
a retired physician's view
"As a retired physician, I can honestly say that unless you are in a serious accident, your best chance of living to a ripe old age is to avoid doctors and hospitals and learn nutrition, herbal medicine and other forms of natural medicine unless you are fortunate enough to have a naturopathic physician available. Almost all drugs are toxic and are designed only to treat symptoms and not to cure anyone. Vaccines are highly dangerous, have never been adequately studied or proven to be effective, and have a poor risk/reward ratio. Most surgery is unnecessary and most textbooks of medi ... read more

TV newsman Tom Snyder dies at 71
By Dennis McLellan, Times Staff Writer
July 31, 2007
Tom Snyder, the brash and provocative late-night TV talk-show host whose bellowing laugh and ever-present cigarette made him a pop culture icon ripe for parody in the 1970s, has died. He was 71.
Snyder died Sunday in San Francisco of complications associated with leukemia, Mike Horowicz, his longtime producer and friend, told the Associated Press on Monday.
"Tom was the very thing that all broadcasters long to be: compelling," David Letterman, whose production company produc ... read more

Hannah followed New Age thinking for many years. She constructed astrology charts, worked with psychics and thought she knew something about the world. And then her 26-year-old son committed suicide. Prior to that tragedy (which most bereavement counselors consider the hardest loss ... read more
Taken by Surprise at Work 13 y
includes useful info about workplace bullying
How can someone like me cope with a painful and difficult situation that comes on without warning and then lingers like molasses stuck to a brick wall in the hot summer?
It’s not easy. Yet another situation has cropped up at work. I mean it, totally out of the blue. We’ve got a great multidisciplinary team of health professionals where I work and generally get along well and treat our clients well, and get an amazing quantity of work done every day and night. The work goes on 24/7.
For a few years now, evaluation time has been fairly kind to me. I work hard, get my work done, and ... read more
Does Everyone Really Create Their Own Reality? 13 y
by William Bloom...worth reading and pondering
by William Bloom - Cygnus Magazine
”Over the years it has been an honor for me to advance and defend new age
and holistic spirituality. I love its open-mindedness, its embrace of
metaphysics and the way it combines spiritual work with healthcare. But I
have also despaired at times about its apparent lack of morality and
compassion when faced with the realities of people’s suffering.
This coldness is often explained away with half-baked ideas about how
energies, karma and the laws of attraction work. This often reaches a peak
of disturbing smugness when a new age ’philosopher’ f ... read more
Running the Numbers 13 y
photographic art reflecting mass consumption in America
A friend brought this current art exhibit to my attention today:
"Running the Numbers
An American Self-Portrait
This new series looks at contemporary American culture through the austere lens of statistics. Each image portrays a specific quantity of something: fifteen million sheets of office paper (five minutes of paper use); 106,000 aluminum cans (thirty seconds of can consumption) and so on. My hope is that images representing these quantities might have a different effect than the raw numbers alone, such as we find daily in articles and books. Statistic ... read more
HMO Update 13 y
good news on the employment front
Amazing news at work: my employer, with hundreds of employees, decided to drop Kaiser Permanente. Poof. Just like that. As of July 1, we are not with Kaiser Permanente. Although many of the employees here were fairly happy with the KP Clinics they were going to, and had pretty decent primary care providers, I was having a consistently horrible experience with KP myself. It’s not like I didn’t give KP a chance. My son, who’s almost 30 now, was born at a KP hospital. I had KP Insurance before there even was such a thing as an HMO. If that makes any sense...
I did not have KP insu ... read more
Energize 2007 : The VIBE Conference 13 y
a high mountain event gives v8 encouragement and a bit of enlightenment
To put it simply, I was completely WOWed by the VIBE Conference this year. It is only my 2nd VIBE Conference. For those who do not know what I mean by VIBE Conference, it is a conference all about the VIBE Machine which is the Vibrational Energetic BioPhotonic Energizer. The focus is not primarily on business, as such, but rather on our collective focus on helping other people, and how to keep ourselves healthy and balanced in order to continue to be available to offer help to others.
Kind of like the old saying...”healer, heal thyself.”
There were many speakers, and all were exc ... read more

Law of Dharma or Purpose in Life
Everyone has a purpose in life...a unique or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.
I will put the Law of Dharma into effect by making a commitment to take the following steps:
1) Today I will lovingly nurture the god or goddess in embryo that lies deep within my soul. I will pay attention
to the spirit within me that animates both my ... read more

I like CureZone, especially the stated primary focus, Educating instead of Medicating.
I enjoy reading the blogs and forums here, and always come to CureZone first when seeking health information for friends, family, and clients.
When I write a comment in a forum or blog, I make every effort to be polite, and respect the other person’s point of view. In fact, I usually only post comments when I have something supportive to say.
Now I know debate forums thrive here too, and there’s something to be said for dialogues between people who have opposing points of view. New and useful ... read more

The Danger of Division
This is an interesting piece of writing that I received today at another site where I write and listen to music. Sounds to me like it’s probably channelled. When I share something with you, I am not implying that I either fully agree or disagree with it, but rather simply that I found it interesting and perhaps thought-provoking and therefore wanted to share it with you. In this spirit, here it is: =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=Mind Watching
