An aha moment...

The sun is out...and it's warm out too. Thank God! I love it. Yesterday & the day before, I increased my liquid meals to see if I could stop getting hives at night. Yesterday I got the right ratio I guess. In addtion to increasing the number of meals, which didn't work, I increased my usage of the vitamineral green from using it in 2 of my meals to 4, and I increased the alk drink from 1 to 3 cups. Last night I saw one little hive, and as I continued to drink my alk drink it went away. I woke up ecstatic to be hiveless this morning, and had my detox bath. Sometimes I want to stay in bed and not bother; but this is clearly working for me - so I get up. I wouldn't trade my previous juice fasting experience, but it was not as pleasant- because If I remember correctly, I would go to sleep and/or wake up with daily hives and itchiness, and I did not understand why it never seemed to go away,if I was juice fasting. It was later that I learned that apparently I have been overacidic for most of my life and I needed to address that as well as nutritional deficiencies. These are two situations where it is not advisable to do any long term fasting; but I didn't know that then.
The understanding and application of buffering acids with alkaline minerals has made all the difference for me this time out. I was only willing to try this again if I could ensure adequate nutrition. I have been enjoying the chicken broth. It is warm & a nice change from the taste of the cold MC drink & carrot juice. I enjoy my herbal teas also. I mix this lemon tea with a bag of peppermint and it is delicious. I use splenda & sweet n low in it for sweetness. Yesterday I got some beef broth that I strained to get the broth but it still had little pieces of vegetable and barley left in it. I considered straining it out further, then decided to just mash them up instead. It tasted like a gourmet meal to me. I'm not concerened about activating my digestive system, because I intend to be doing this a long time and having miniscule pieces of food in my broth, and artificial sweetener in my tea makes it easier to enjoy the process. I also chew sugarless gum, because it satifies my desire to chew something. I've read not to chew gum, butI gave up the thought of having a perfect fast a while back. What I'd rather have is a liquid fast that is perfect for me and helps me achieve my goals.
