Make a Movie? plus - New Film: "The Age of Stupid"

Someone mentioned making some of the stuff I have written about into a movie, but it is not so easy! And I have a ticket for "The Age of Stupid" this coming Friday

Oh dear. Someone thinks I should make this into a documentary of some sort. The Target audience would be intelligent people who care about the environment, use the Internet and are prepared to think "outside the box"

The objectives would be to help people with type 2 diabetes (100% reversal - people get undiabetic), cancer (some cancers cured using illegal hemp plant, prevention by diet), heart disease heart (100% cure by diet even for people who have had coronary events - return to full health), strokes (avoid by diet), plus many other illnesses such as Alzheimers, osteoporosis and so on. Natural life to be extended to 100+ years, disease free. The other angle would be on organic gardening possibly.

Possible problems would be that large drug and oil companies and major corporations may strongly oppose this video. After all, what TV network screening food adverts would want to encourage people not to eat processed food. The hemp oil issue may be controversial, as many people may see this as a "druggie" quest. However I feel the plant is too important to miss out. And after all, I am appealing to the ones that can think outside the box, not the general masses. It's too soon for them to understand, and when they do it may be too late.

The biggest problem would be that I don't have a clue how to make a movie / documentary, nor do I have the resources. My most ambitious project so far was videoing a wedding in Sicily. Mind you, Aaron Scheibner, who produced "A Delicate Balance - The Truth" quoted M K Ghandi in the book he produced with the film: "If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning." and adds "This was definitely the case with me."

A method of distribution could be the Internet, this would bypass any censorship and has worked for movies such as "Run from the Cure" and "Zeitgeist Addendum" Anyway, I am not going to rush into anything. However I have produced a brief synopsis of how I think it should run and sent it to a friend who is a well known TV producer / Publisher / Broadcaster to see what he thinks, though it's not exactly his fiend of work. However there would be costs involved, eg travel to USA for interviews, equipment, god knows what else. There are ways round this, I have been advised. For example there are crowd funded films such as Supersize Me, McLibel, and The Age of Stupid, but it usually only works when you have a reputation as a film maker. I have also been told that it takes 6 months of work just to have a script, and possibly 2 or 3 years solid work in total to produce the film.

So maybe I will just stick with producing a website, something which I am currently toying with. I have done a few of those, though my graphic skills leave much to be desired.

I am away for a week so may not blog. my soil analysis equipment and organic seeds have arrived, so when I get back I may be a bit busy.

(added 1 hour later)

I just popped over to "The Age of Stupid" and this is one I am definately going to see ASAP, it will be released in a few days (I missed the London premiere two days ago, how annoying). It looks very interesting, I guess though it's a stick film rather than a carrot. Personally, I prefer carrots, yum yum!

Hurrah! I have bought a ticket, will be seeing this film on Friday 20th March!
