Nutritional Reserves... you have them?

For now, the Protein Sparing Modified Fast (PSMF), and the kelp noodles will have to wait. A guy at work asked if I wanted to join him and his buds on a 14 day Master cleanse. Sure, I said, but I was a little concerned about my body's ability to handle it. Either way, today I find myself on day 3 by myself. No biggie. My past experience tells me that not eating is not very popular. I'm doing this for me anyway, not for anybody else. The hardest day was Monday. I was hungry, and I lasted until I left work. On the way home I decided I would have a chicken parm hero, ice cream and chips. I fanatsized about how good it would be. It was sooo not worth it. In my life, I don't think I've had a chicken parm that tasted so horrible . It was so bad, I could only pick around it. The ice cream wasn't the flavor I wanted, so I didn't enjoy that either. The chips were fine. I was annoyed at myself that I blew a whole day on an illusion. The next day was going along the same, but what saved me, is that I had class right after work, and did not have the time or opportunity to give in to any cravings. So Tuesday ended successfully, and became day 1. Already, I see a circulation issue in my leg drastically improved after just 3 days. Yeah Baby!  There really is something to the whole fasting, juice fasting thing; and it's a lot cheaper than many alternatives. That said, my concern with starting this centered around my level of nutritional reserves and electrolyte balance.

I put this in red because this is nothing to play with. This is something you need to know and address before you decide to do a master cleanse or juice or water fasting, food restriction, or even very low calorie dieting over a period of time. Read up on the wealth of information out there, then tailor a program to fit your body's needs. No matter what anyone tells you, and how many reassurances they may give you, let your body's condition guide you, and if you don't know,  find out first.  What's o.k. for someone else may or may not be right for you. but your responsibility to yourself is to do the research. Remember that.  Through trial and error, I've learned that my body's nutritional reserves are low, so I have to be careful. I've noticed Diarrhea every day which did not happen the last time I did the MC, which I attribute to the Exsula supplements I'm taking and healing crisis symptoms; and yesterday, I felt a lot of fatigue in my legs when I walked up the stairs - so I felt like I was already in a negative balance. I did a little research to find a liquid or powder product that would work with what I'm doing. Today I added Phion Alkaline Minerals to my version of the master cleanse drink. It's a relatively tasteless powder, and I will be sure to get the minerals my body needs, and maintain a proper electrolyte balance. I also plan to interchange different sweetners - dark agave syrup, grade B maple syrup, and blackstrap molasses - for variety and to see how they taste. So far I have lost around 7 pounds I guess. I can't say speciffically because I don't weigh every day; because the scale is not my focus. I know I'll get where I'm going, but I want to take care of myself, and I want you to take care of yourself too. I have a sketchy plan worked out so far. Like how long I want to go, etc...but I'm going to take it all one day at a time, and keep you posted on my progress.
