"The basis of Zappa’s animus toward the Establishment, Authority, and Received Wisdom would presumably have derived from the relevant psycho-dynamics of his youth and family of origin, but I have read that his stance against Authority may have been permanently hardened by his grossly unfair conviction on a trumped up p 0 r n o g r a p h y charge and spending ten days in jail. (Like any great artist, he was able to recycle the traumatic experience in service of his art.)" - See more at: http://www.beendoonsolong.com/2013/05/let-me-be-perfectly-frank/#sthash.LTQdcFGi.dpuf
I agree with Randall Grahm regarding the original Frank Zappa sting. "Spending ten days in jail" had to have been a brutal awakening to the hypocrisy of the American myth which Zappa forever had cutting commentary on.
A "Shadow consciousness" with a "Gift" that demonstrated his ability "to recycle the traumatic experience in service of his art". "Gene Keys" elaborates.:
"All natural energy or life force has one inbuilt programme - to grow and evolve. ... when you release the quantum energy that was latent inside you, it begins to rise. As it rises, the evolutionary force takes a hold of your mind and begins to with it. This is how true creativity is born and the human imagination is unleashed. ... Imagination is born out of confusion, but only when you embrace confusion without trying to change it. ... In the beginning you may paint, write, sing about or simply tell the story of your pain and how it feels to you. ... at the Gift frequency pain can be more than simply expressed - it can become art."
However - "Artistic process that does not release the inner light is simply the art of the shadow consciousness finding its way into imagination. ..." Richard Rudd
Just submitted this as a comment at Randall's site:
It is 3:39 AM on July 6th, 2014 at the first quarter moon and somehow it is an auspicious moment to have found you and your article on the grand (Wazoo) maestro himself! FZ had an enormous mutative influence on my life. It’s the one thing in my life that is beyond description (and especially to attempt as a “comment” here)! However, I have started a blog on this and over time am reasonably sure that I will add to it.
Now I’d like to taste your wines!
Strangely enough I came to discover your site by way of a search for “biodynamic biochar”! Is this bizarre?
Thank You, Randall!

Happy "Sixth Day of Christmas" with "six geese-a-laying" (I would absolutely love to have "six geese-a-laying" on my third of an acre now! ; ~ )
From my archives - "Zappa: My parents were very devoutly Catholic, and I was until I was about 18. Then, common sense took over ...":
Quoted from a Genesis (Adult Magazine) article with "photo/interview" By Keith Elliot Greenberg
I was an alter boy/acolyte in the Episcopal Church possibly until I turned 19.

Creativity+"frank zappa" were the search terms that I just used and through those results I found
I was inspired to do the search in reading Creative Transformation:
After nearly fifty years - it appears that the inspiration that's infused in my psyche from Zappa's music will last me the rest of my life!
There's "creativity" and then there's the impact beyond creativity that I believe Frank was very much aware of and acknowledged in terms of "mutation". I had a very early recognition of the truth of "mutation". (I remember my attraction toward joining the "United Mutations" as mentioned on his second or third album.) I recognized that my life is all about mutation. In the 60s there was little in the way of outer validation for that inner recognition. Now we have the work of Richard Rudd's Gene Keys (which I consider as the graduate course in Human Design) that gives great acknowledgment to the "big change" of mutation that Human Design says will occur in the Solar Plexus Center within the next decade! It is truly an exciting time we are living now and I am so glad I survived the 60s to be here now!
