Day 1 Matthews

I love God. God loves me back.

So I am using the app #21DC on my iPad, and they have a challenge of fasting 21 days and reading the entire New Testament in that time. There are also 20 sermons.

Reading Matthews yesterday opened my eyes. I became recommitted to Jesus and gave myself a water baptism. I became a new person after the baptism and was more positive and gave up less. I found things to do instead of lying in bed, and I prayed more often. When I was impatient, I said, "God, I have to be patient," and I stopped being impatient. I usually gave myself a metaphorical headache by lying in bed, but now I am treating myself better. I have momentum now in doing things.

Here are what stood out to me listening to the first sermon about the Giants of 2016 and reading Matthews. I learned that the spirit must come first before the flesh. I also learned from calling the CBN prayer hotline that I must please God. Still, sometimes I forgot about pleasing God, and that was the reason I still ate yesterday. But I will remember in my heartest of heart this time to please God. Today will still be Day 1. God doesn't like Gluttony. Humbling myself before the Lord means fasting, and it gets God's attention and pleases him.

Other things I learned reading Matthews are that I can't just claim to be a Christian without setting an example and living the Christian way, God loves a peacemaker, I cannot teach Christian ways without practicing them first, never swear an oath, and more, except I would need to go back to remember what stood out to me, because I didn't take notes. I am going to take notes this time so I would remember and repeat what stood out to me here. Even though I don't have a lot remembered, I think the peacemaker one is already very invaluable and will control how I deal with relationships and other people.

So two things to repeat are "I want to please God" and "God loves a peacemaker."

One challenge for me is going to be to let the spirit rule over flesh. This is going to be a learning experience. But that's what God loves, so I better do it right. I love you, God. I love you, all.

I plan to reread Matthews today closely and take notes and also read the next set of passages and take notes. I am going to use a new notebook for the occasion.

Another challenge for me is to increase my love for God and feel God's love for me. I am going to prove my love for God through fasting and being hard-working.

Also learning how to pray to God at all times and have good quality prayers.
