Sunny Day
wherein V8 speaks of sunshine, snowstorm, family, reducing stressors, upcoming election, and more

There were low visibility and blizzardish conditions all around our state late last Wednesday night through noon or so on Thursday. It was yucky during morning rush hour on Thursday.
Thankfully I have intentionally created my "career" schedule so that I will not be driving during morning and evening rush hours. Most of the time, anyway. This lessens my life stress experience significantly. I just know it!
And stress reduction is beneficial healthwise.
Speaking of stress...those of you who live in the USA, have you been watching your local election commercials? It's true that one can always turn down the TV volume or change the channel, or elect not to watch TV at all...and I often choose any or all of the above.
Every year, the various candidates pay thousands of dollars to sling verbal mud at each other on the TV. It makes me not want to vote at all. It says to me: "You have a choice, and it is between these two people who are both negative and slanderous." I would love a candidate who actually had something GOOD to say about his/her opponent. Perhaps that's just not appropo? I think it would be absolutely heavenly!!
My point really is that between the two political parties it seems often like we don't have much of a choice in candidates sometimes. it is true that every now and then a great candidate comes along and does an honorable job during his/her term in office. I'm talking state/local politics here and not national. I do not want to tackle national politics herein.
Tninking of the upcoming elections in terms of health, and other Curezone focuses, I just see it as a stressor....the ultimate sense of hopelessness of it all. The right to vote is important to people in places where anyone has experienced NOT having that right. I know it is an important right, it really is.
I will be glad when this election is over. So many amendments and such to vote on. My neighbors all have various signs staked into their lawns. I don't read them. I study the issues independently, consult with friends and colleagues I respect, consult written, unbiased media if that is available, and then make my decision as to how to vote.
So, anyway, it's a sunny day. Today I will take my vitamins, and continue with my conscious focus on healthy eating and increased physical activity.
Also, today I will drive to Denver and visit with my daughter, and we'll go out to lunch. I'm looking forward to that!
Maybe we'll have time to go do some urban walking after that.
Lately clients at my private office have been telling me about new alternative health approaches they've tried. One recommended Network Spinal Analysis, formerly known as Network Chiropractic. This approach has apparently helped a few people I know. Based on the same basic principles as Chirpractic, it does not involve any of the physically jarring spinal manipulation. It is low-impact yet deep work, and lots of people experience incredible results from it. I did try it recently due to the glowing recommendations, but discovered that it was not for me. Disappointing. I'll maybe go into that later.
Enough words for now.
Peace to all of you...
