Do Get Up
it's all one big experiment, this life
Date: 4/27/2007 7:02:31 PM ( 14 y ) ... viewed 2765 times I was thinking about Corinthian's most recent comment on my prior blog message, Getting Real in which he encourages me: "Don't get down."
Good advice, certainly.
Taking it a step further and transforming it to the solution-focused paradigm, I've changed the words slightly: "Do Get Up"
So simply, in order not to get down and/or not to stay down, one must pull oneself up and keep moving forward. A virtual phoenix rising from the ashes.
So I'm getting up, and moving on.
I was also thinking about a friend at work. Earlier this week she received the news that her 19 year old nephew was killed in action in Iraq. He was in the Army primarily to earn money to attend college. His funeral is next week.
Sad beyond words, really.
Families keep going. People keep going.
We continue to bravely live our lives, sometimes not knowing the point of it all any more than a hamster running blissfully inside a wheel in a cage.
It's all one big experiment, this life.
I do keep getting up and facing the moment, embracing the day, breathing the air...
Mostly working.
