I spent most of this Labor Day Weekend co-facilitating a booth at a huge event in a nearby city.
I'm grateful for many aspects of this opportunity I had to network my alternative health practice. I'm grateful for my booth partners, as the booth would not have had the perfectly-put-together displays and signs and informational materials that it had, if it weren't for them. Just amazing.
I'm also grateful for these booth partners who tolerated my moodiness, which came up more than once during the event. Large events, especially events full of new-agey exhibits and psychics and such, are historically daunting and majorly overwhelming for me. I try to meet my challenges and transform them, thus my venture into co-facilitation of a booth at such a fair.
So, I managed to make it through the weekend.
I will not be going into details about the booth for various reasons, the primary reason being internet personal privacy.
In the midst of providing services for our booth customers, on the 3rd day of the fair, it suddenly hit me that I had not been doing anything I usually do for self care.
So I stopped and took a nice deep breath. Just totally stopped what I was doing. The other people in the booth, and the customer I was providing a service for, looked at me...
I choked. It just happened. When I stopped choking, I said, "I need to stop for a moment and get a drink of water." Those around me were understanding of this need. Whether they had been or not, I would have stopped and taken the time I needed to breath deeply, and do whatever I needed to do, and get a drink of water. Not just a sip, but as much water as I needed at the time.
I think we all need to do this, whenever it is, and wherever we are, especially when lots of people are waiting for us, and being served by us, and counting on us to provide services or goods for them.
I was so empowered by stopping and taking that drink of water.
Words cannot even begin to describe it.
From now on I will empower myself to stop and do what I need to do for self care.
And I'm happy to say that as of today I'm back on schedule with my vitamins and supplements, too!
I hope you are all having a relaxing Labor Day.
