Well it's near the end of day five for me and day six for Ron! I'm so proud that we've stuck to this! This afternoon I cooked a really nice meal for our little boy, organic chicken breast with coconut oil and spices, onions, garlic, red bell pepper and carrots and put it all in chicken broth in a skillet and left it in the oven on a timer when we went out. Wow...did the house smell great when we came home a couple of hours later. When we walked in he cryed out, "Dinner's ready!" I dished it all up for him as he sat eagerly in his little high chair lickin his lips and saying, "Mmmmm, good" as I cut it up for him. This baby LOVES to eat! This is the first time I have eagerly looked forward to eating and ending this fast. It did look good, and very healthy, too. It's a great feeling to know that it will all be there when we finish, right? I feel so calm inside, not just physically, but emotionally, too. I think this is rightfully called the Master Cleanse. I think it helps you detox in so many ways. I feel much less stress about things. Oh sure, the events taking place around the world bother me greatly. I cried as I watched the news at lunchtime about the earthquake victims, especially the little children killed in their schools. I'm sure everyone is touched by that, and parents in a way that no nonparent could ever comprehend. But the everyday stress of things has gone away, I'm much more centered with an 'everything will work itself out' attitude. My dad always says, "Everything will come out in the wash", and I do believe he's right. It's just that now I don't feel like I have to start the washer. My energy is still good, and Ron says he feels absolutely great. You can't ask for more than that, can you? I'm not sure how long we'll go. You've probably noticed that we've never committed to that. We don't know. We've talked about 10 days, then 14 days, and even 21 days before. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. We want to do it together if possible because we both think it would be really hard if one of us was cooking and eating in front of the other. I know a lot of you have done it or are doing it now and my hat's off to you. It's really nice to have a partner in this. I think it would help if you had a friend to do it along with you, also. If you're like me though, those kind of people are really hard to find. Don't most of your friends and family think your nuts to do this kind of thing, or to do liver flushes? Oh, that reminds me.... one our of friends went into the hospital Saturday because of a gallbladder attack. They used to live across the street from us and Ron would tell them about his liver flushes when he first started them. She's about a year younger than me...39. Well, they found out during surgery that not only does she have cancer in her gallbladder, but in her liver as well. We are so sad about that. She has four kids and is about to be a first time grandmother. She eats terrible. We always say her going to 7-11 everyday for a big gulp or whatever they call it. Wonder if any of this would help her....The thing is , there just really aren't that many people who would commit to some sort of program like this. Like my brother says, he just wants to take a 'pill' and make a problem go away. If only it were that easy. Well, it's time for my nightly treat of senna tea, the chocolate kind. I also found some Maple Syrup today from a blogger who was kind enough to post the link. I'll pass it along in case you might have missed her message. Great fasting guys!
